June 8, 2022 – Robustel announced that NTT DOCOMO, INC has acquired its R1510 Industrial Cellular IoT Gateway. This milestone is a major step forward for Robustel in its mission to help customer companies in industries around the world solve their connectivity problems with Robust, secure and scalable IoT and M2M solutions.

Background on the launch of the R1510 for Industrial Cellular IoT Gateway

NTT DOCOMO, INC. (hereinafter referred to as NTT DOCOMO) has developed an IoT service package called “DOCOMO IoT Managed Service”, a service package that combines communication devices, connectivity and maintenance into a complete service offering. This service has wide-ranging applications beyond the IoT industry and acts as an alternative solution for all customers using ISDN/PSTN and 3G networks as these are set to be phased out in the future.

The Robustel R1510 IoT Router is an industrial LTE router that offers cost-effective connectivity with various interfaces. With thousands of units regularly shipping worldwide, the R1510 has been certified by over 20 Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Japan, the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, etc. Therefore, the router can quickly be used not only in IoT projects in Japan, but also worldwide.

The R1510 offers a robust industrial housing that can be used in harsh environments with an operating temperature range of -25 to 75 °C. In addition to the two Ethernet interfaces, it can also support digital inputs/outputs (DI/DO) and WLAN in client and access point mode.

Robust Cloud Manager Service (RCMS) added value

Robustel Cloud Manager Service (RCMS) is a modular IoT cloud software platform compatible with all Robustel products.

RCMS was built from the ground up to enable Robustel customers to build their IoT solution(s) in a scalable, cost-effective manner and quickly evolve with the market.

Designed to work hand-in-hand with RobustOS, RCMS unlocks the true potential of Robustel products and offers customers the ultimate range of monitoring, management and control capabilities.

With its modular design, RCMS allows new APPs to be added to the platform without breaking the core behavior to create new features and enable integration with third-party applications.

Strong local support capability

Together with our local distributor PALTEK Corporation (Headquarters: Kohoku-ku, Yokohama, CEO: Tadahito Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as PALTEK), we have also built a strong operational support system that matches NTT DOCOMO’s service and offers local maintenance. Warranty and support systems that were a key factor in adopting this solution.
